The five-member girl group reached a special milestone in their career on January 20, as SM Entertainment announced today. Their new album “The ReVe Festival 2022 Birthday” broke the one million mark on Friday! According to SM, exactly 1,029,463 copies had been sold by January 20!
Congratulations Red Velvet!
It is Red Velvet's first album to sell one million copies and shows that the girl group is still climbing higher more than nine years after their debut!

The ReVe Festival 2022 Birthday
With the mini album, Red Velvet set a personal record even before its release. It was pre-ordered 712,187 times. Almost 200,000 more than its predecessor "The ReVe Festival 2022 Feel My Rhythm", which had been pre-ordered 516,866 times!
Will the girl group continue this streak of success with their next album?
It will probably take some time until then, because Wendy and Seulgi are currently performing with the SM unit “Got the Beat”, which also includes members of SNSD and aespa. The mini album “Stamp on It” with the title track of the same name was released on January 16.
And just on December 26, SM Entertainment released the winter album “SMCU Palace”, in which Red Velvet also took part. Together with aespa, Wendy, Joy, Irene, Yeri and Seulgi even sang the lead single “Beautiful Christmas”.

On January 12, ITZY also broke the million mark with their latest album Cheshire, which was released in November 2022.
It is already ITZY's second million seller, after “Checkmate”. By the way, this makes ITZY currently the only fourth-generation girl group with more than one million seller.
