Yesterday, Onew's new solo album was announced on SHINee's official Twitter account!
The dice have finally been cast. More than 3 years after his solo debut with “Voice”, Onew returns with a new album in April. Of course, the long gap is also due to his military service in 2019/2020, but his second album was originally supposed to be released last November. We don't know why it was postponed, but after all this time, we're even more excited to let ourselves be enchanted by Onew's extraordinary voice!
You can find the new album here in our shop!
The singer debuted in 2008 in SHINee, one of the few second-generation idol groups that are still active. Although he has a lot of experience and has released over 30 albums with SHINee, the new album is certainly something special, because it is only the second one that he records entirely on his own.
Dice
SHINee fans know that the titles of all the members' solo debut albums are matched to one another. “Base” by Jonghyun rhymes with “Ace” by Taemin. “Face” by Key and “Voice” by Onew also join the series. With this, the members want to express that they are always together, even when they are pursuing solo activities. The albums are also physically very similar: they are square and have a uniform design.
Maybe you have already noticed that the title of the new album “Dice” also fits the series well. It is a lovely gesture from Onew.
Now, on to the album!
There is a photo book version and a digipack version.
The photo book version contains, who would have thought, a photo book. In addition, there is the CD, a sticker, one of 3 photo cards and one of 3 special cards. Buyers randomly receive one of two different covers. If you pre-order the album, you optionally also get a folded poster with one of 3 possible designs. But it is very limited, so you shouldn't wait too long!
Buyers of the digipack version also get a photo book, a CD, one of 3 photo cards and one of 2 folded posters. Here, too, with pre-orders you optionally get a limited folded poster with one of 2 possible designs.
