BIOGRAPHY

Yoon Jeong-han, born October 4, 1995, better known as Jeonghan, is a South Korean singer under Pledis Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group SEVENTEEN, where he is part of the vocal team as well as the subunit “Jeonghan X Wonwoo.”

He comes from Hwaseong, South Korea, and has one younger sister. Jeonghan attended Hyangnam High School, where he majored in natural sciences and graduated in 2014. In 2022, he enrolled in a master's program at Anyang University, focusing on K-pop and business administration within the applied music department.

Jeonghan was discovered by a Pledis Entertainment talent scout at a subway station. After successfully passing the audition, he joined the company in 2013 and trained for two years before debuting with SEVENTEEN.

SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN is a South Korean boy group formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2015. Known as “self-producing idols,” the 13-member group has captivated fans worldwide with their exceptional talent, unique concepts, and dynamic performances. SEVENTEEN is split into three specialized units: hip-hop, vocal, and performance. This blend of styles sets them apart in the K-pop industry.

Since debuting with “17 Carat,” the group has consistently released albums and singles that topped the charts. They're known for hits like "Very Nice," "Don't Wanna Cry," and "Super." SEVENTEEN's members write and choreograph much of their own music and performances, a testament to their strong teamwork and creativity.

As cultural icons, SEVENTEEN have won numerous awards, including daesangs, and held sold-out concerts around the world. With their innovative approach and relentless creativity, they continue to shape the future of K-pop. Here are some of their biggest achievements:

• 2015: SEVENTEEN was the only rookie group to sell more than 100,000 copies with their debut album “17 Carat.”
• 2015: SEVENTEEN ranked 18th on Billboard's “21 Under 21.” They were the only K-pop group listed in 2015.
• 2016: SEVENTEEN won several “Best New Artist” awards, including at the Seoul Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards, and Gaon Chart Music Awards.

Jeonghan was the first member of the group to begin his military service.

Jeonghan debuted on May 26, 2015, as a member of the South Korean boy group SEVENTEEN with the mini album “17 Carat.” As part of the group's vocal team, he quickly drew attention with his gentle voice and charismatic stage presence, making him one of the most popular members. His musical journey hasn't been limited to performing, though — Jeonghan has always explored new paths in his career. In April 2023, Jeonghan expanded his talents beyond music by becoming a host of Tokyo FM's “School of Lock” program, a weekly radio show that introduces musicians with the goal of „holding the key to the future.“ His role on the show allowed fans to build a deeper connection with him, and he kept the position until December 2023, when SEVENTEEN member Dino took over the role.

In June 2023, Jeonghan faced a setback when he underwent surgery for an elbow injury. Nevertheless, he continued to take part in SEVENTEEN's “Be The Sun World Tour,” performing in a cast and brace while carefully following medical advice for his recovery. Later, in December 2023, it was revealed that Jeonghan had also undergone ankle surgery, which led him to temporarily step back from the “Follow Tour” and other planned group activities. Fans were relieved to hear that Jeonghan's health had improved by February 2024 and that he would return from his break starting in March.

In June 2024, Jeonghan debuted alongside bandmate Wonwoo as part of a new subunit called “Jeonghan X Wonwoo,” with the release of their single “This Man.” This collaboration revealed a new side of Jeonghan and added another chapter to his ever-evolving career.

Jeonghan's popularity isn't limited to South Korea — he has a significant following in Japan in particular. He has regularly ranked among the top ten in Japanese celebrity rankings and was recognized for his outstanding performance in GP Korea's Brand Reputation Index for idols. His influence was especially evident in 2022, when Jeonghan posted photos of himself in Shibuya, Tokyo, on his Instagram account. The photos inspired fans to visit the same locations and recreate his pictures, showing the high level of admiration his fans have for him.

In August 2024, Pledis Entertainment announced that Jeonghan would not take part in SEVENTEEN's upcoming „Right Here World Tour“, as he would be enlisting for South Korean military service before the tour began in October. On September 12, it was confirmed that his enlistment date had been set for September 26. On that day, he officially began his service as a social worker.

JEONGHAN X WONWOO

“Jeonghan X Wonwoo” (JxW) is the second subunit of the South Korean boy group SEVENTEEN, following BSS. Formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2024, the duo consists of Jeonghan and Wonwoo. They debuted on June 17, 2024, with the single album “This Man,” which included three songs, among them „Last Night“. The album sold 530,000 copies on its first day and reached 787,046 copies sold within its first week.

Even before their official debut, Jeonghan and Wonwoo were featured in Dispatch Korea's Dicon series in December 2023 with a photo book titled „Just Two of Us“. After their debut, they appeared on the cover of the June issue of Allure Korea and performed „Last Night“ at SEVENTEEN's 8th fan meeting in July 2024.

In September 2024, Jeonghan began his mandatory military service, temporarily pausing his activities with both SEVENTEEN and JxW.

Jeonghan has served as a brand ambassador for several labels. In October 2021, he was named ambassador for Banila Co to help establish the brand in Japan, a partnership that runs through 2024. In September 2023, he was named global ambassador for Acme De La Vie.

He is also active as a model, walking in Yves Saint Laurent's Paris and Berlin Fashion Week shows in 2023 and 2024, with coverage from magazines such as Dispatch Korea, GQ Korea, Elle Korea, and VMan.

In 2024, Jeonghan took on new ambassador roles for Acqua di Parma in June and Speculum in August, the latter alongside The8. He also appeared on the cover of Man Noblesse in September in collaboration with Hublot, and was part of Paul Smith's 'Season of Fun and Games' campaign in October.

• His name means “pure Milky Way,” since “Jeong” translates to “clean” and “Hand” means “Land.”
• He calls himself an “angel” because his birthday is October 4th (“1004” is pronounced “Cheonsa” in Korean, which means “angel”).

Jeonghan is SEVENTEEN's “mom” member, lovingly looking after the group. He combines a caring nature with mischievous charm and is known for his skillful cheating at games. Alongside his gentle voice and strong stage presence, he also shines in the fashion world as an ambassador for luxury brands. Despite his playful side, he considers SEVENTEEN his greatest source of happiness and remains an indispensable member of the group.
