BIOGRAPHY

Dahyun was born on 28 May 1998 in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, and grew up together with her parents and older brother. From a young age she sang in her church choir and quickly showed musical talent. In sixth grade, she first drew attention when a video of her went viral, showing her performing an energetic, spirited dance routine in church to Hillsong's "The Power of Your Love", complete with head-bobbing and outstretched arms. This earned her the nickname "Eagle Dance Church Sister".
In middle school, she performed as a solo dancer at a youth dance festival, where she was spotted by a talent scout from JYP Entertainment. On 7 July 2012, she auditioned for the company and was subsequently officially accepted as a trainee.
